Hello Everyone! My name is Sterling Perez. I am an owner of a Black Owned Business called AG Tennis Academy.
A little story about me and how i came up with deciding to start my own tennis business! Growing up I knew i wanted to create something whether its an invention of some sort or a business, it ran in my family. My grandpa worked in a warehouse and created a version to a machine that sped up the process to make conveyor belts move fast and more efficient, My mom has her own cleaning business, and when i saw how much desire they had to make things succeed from their end, I'm seeing it from the front row in my life now! First thing i started to do was build a wrist item that was similar to how a Swiss Army multi-tool is built with multiple items in a small manner to carry around but then i asked myself how to make this easier. Hmmmm, well i would want to have it be more quickly accessible, so i decided to make a two piece magnetable wrist tool that could carry all this. None the less, I moved away from this idea but decided to go to something else, and that was deciding what my business name would be! So i name it SterlingsAGDesigns( all of businesses wrapped in one). The Idea of "AG" was inspired from the Periodic Table. My name is Sterling and AG on the periodic table is "Silver". Hence the Picture being in the design format of the Element boxes. My Family was known as Teamstar so i wanted to make that special and incorporate that idea into a logo for my tennis business so i made the star a person holding a tennis ball in one hand and tennis racket in the other, which had also Spelled "AG" in the Design. Everything i put into AG Tennis Academy is blood, sweat, and tears because something me and my family built to showing that we could do anything we put our minds to, so here we are!
My goal with this GoFundMe is to help my business, AG Tennis Academy, become an indoor facility within the next 5 years! We have had our business done mostly on public grounds or in facilities we have been renting out. We now want to provide a space for our clients and our future staff to have a place where we can create more than just a facility, but a place to call ours. Our area choices are between Elgin, South Elgin, or Dundee. We realize we are asking for a big amount, but we promise this would be a well-needed foundation in our areas we teach out of and be in high demand. Out of these areas, we are hoping to maybe be sponsored through a private school and have these courts be built in a nearby area to accommodate a full rubric of lesson plans to get all of the players at this school (preferably PS-12 grade school) to the levels that they need to be at by having tennis coaches implement this structure to the program!
